Question to Radhanath Swami: Is it possible to following the principles of Sanatana Dharma in the world today?
Radhanath Swami: Sanatana Dharma is beyond one religion or another. Sanatana Dharma refers to our constitutional nature of being servants of God and servants of every living being. The purpose of life is to live in this world following the principles of Sanatana Dharma.
If we have the proper association, it is not only possible but it is certain that we will be able to follow the principles of Sanatana Dharma even today. We must express our aspirations in life by the association we choose to keep. What things we do? What people we associate with? The answers to these questions very much determine whether our consciousness smells like the rose garden or like the shoes. If we are associating with people who are sincerely teaching Sanatana Dharma, who are sincerely aspiring to practice Sanatna Dharma, and if we are trying to live by these principles ourselves by accepting what’s favorable and rejecting what is unfavorable, then we will achieve our destination by the grace of God. God helps those who help themselves. Our future depends on whom we associate with and what the ideals of our lives are. We can judge a person by his/her ideals. One may not have reached it, but if one is striving for the right ideal, that person is a great person.
