Question to Radhanath Swami: Suppose a fisherman is catching the fish and selling it in the market to maintain his family. Do you think he is doing some sinful activities?
Radhanath Swami: Rather than talking about what’s sinful, we will just speak of the science of how the world works. The science is whatever suffering is coming on that fish, the reaction to that suffering has to come upon him. That’s the law of karma.
Now we may feel sympathy that he knows no other way to maintain his family and we may respect him for that. But still, if our survival is causing pain and death to others, we will have to bear the reaction for that.
