Is Krishna too high?

Krishna

KrishnaQuestion to Radhanath Swami: Sometimes I feel Krishna is too high for me. How can I get over this feeling?

Radhanath Swami Answers: When we understand Krishna, it gives us great faith and great hope. Krishna is too high. But ultimately Krishna is a person. And Krishna, although he is so great, when he sees our sincerity, he reciprocates. It is said that when we take one step towards Krishna, Krishna takes 10 steps toward us. That is his kindness.

And we see through the various incarnations how the Lord even accepted the most menial positions for his devotee. During the Maha Bharath war, for his devotee Arjuna, he became the chariot driver, such a humble position. For Sudama Vipra, a very poor and poverty stricken man, Krishna washed his feet, fanned him, fed him and served him. The Lord is very kind.

And we find saintly persons like Srila Prabhupada, who was Krishna’s devotee, empowered by Krishna, he was cooking for people. He was feeding them with his own hands; he was cleaning for them; he was taking the most humble possible position to help them. That is God’s love for us. So, yes, that is why we love Krishna, because he is so high, but he is so kind. So loving, so merciful, so personal. He is willing to come down to this earth himself or through his devotees, just to lift us up, lift us up and lift us up.
